kageroumado Releases Piru, an Open-Source Dose Journal and Offline Pharmacology Library for iPhone, Android and Mac
Piru is a private dose journal, trip notebook and offline pharmacology library with pharmacokinetic timelines and interaction references. Available for Mac, as an iPhone beta on TestFlight and as an Android alpha. Free and open source under GPL-3.0.
On September 26, 2026, kageroumado released Piru 1.0 for Mac, followed on September 29, 2026 by the first Android alpha. Piru for iPhone is available as a public beta through Apple's TestFlight. Piru is a free, open-source dose journal, session notebook and offline pharmacology library for people who want an accurate record of what they took, when, and how it affected them.
Users log each dose with its amount and time, keep medication strengths, routines and reminders beside the day's timeline, and see pharmacokinetic curves estimating how each dose changes over time. Session notes carry their own timestamps together with mood, intensity and effects, and can be exported as a written report. With permission, Apple Health adds heart rate and blood pressure to the timeline.
The built-in pharmacology library works entirely offline and covers more than 1,100 substances, from common prescription medications to less familiar compounds. Each entry shows the sources behind its individual fields, and users can compare references and set their priority when sources disagree. Tools include interaction references, half-life estimates, a medication calendar, supply tracking and an effect estimator.
The journal is stored on the device. Piru has no account, advertising or analytics, and encrypted backups are optional. The app and its library are available in English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. Piru provides estimates for personal record-keeping and is not medical advice.
