kageroumado Releases Coluracetam, a Native Markdown Reader and Quick Look Renderer for Mac

Coluracetam is a native macOS Markdown reader with a live side-by-side editor and rendered view, Finder Quick Look previews and PDF/HTML export. Open source, available on the Mac App Store.

On June 29, 2026, kageroumado released Coluracetam, a native macOS application for reading and writing Markdown. The app arrived on the Mac App Store on July 15, 2026. Coluracetam opens and saves plain .md and .markdown files and shows a monospace source editor beside the rendered page, updating live as the user types.

Coluracetam also renders Markdown in Finder: pressing the space bar on a Markdown file shows a fully rendered Quick Look preview, and Finder thumbnails display the rendered document. Rendered documents can be exported to PDF or HTML.

Coluracetam keeps no database, opens only Markdown files, and has no accounts or settings to configure.

Key features

  • Live side-by-side Markdown source and rendered view
  • Rendered Quick Look previews and thumbnails in Finder
  • Export to PDF and HTML
  • Works directly on plain .md and .markdown files

Availability

Coluracetam is available on the Mac App Store for US$4.99 and requires macOS 26 Tahoe. The source code is published on GitHub under the MIT License. More information is available at kagerou.glass/coluracetam.
